Description: Commonly called the Thumbs-up Sea squirt, polycarpa are also known as tunicates or ascidians. The thumb-like parts are its siphons, one for incoming water and the other for outgoing, between which this invertebrate filter its food (plankton etc). (id. and info. by Serina Rahman).
