Location: Pulong Tau National Park, Sarawak
Description: This genus of fungi infects and uses ants as hosts. Spores from the parasitic ophiocordyceps fungi penetrates the exoskeleton of the ant then kills and consumes it. Filamentous thread like structures called hyphae covers the dead ant giving it a furry look.
