Location: Madai Caves, Sabah
Description: For a brief time each day, sunlight pierces through small cracks and holes, giving up little secrets held in the chambers of Madai Caves for hundreds of years. The ethnic Ida'an (or Idahan) have been living and harvesting swiftlet's bird nest's here for centuries. Early traces of humans inhabiting this cave date back over 15,000 years, preserved in the thick layers of bat and swiftlet droppings. (the size of this cave can appreciated by looking at the person sitting on the rock, just above the letter 'j' from the watermark 'jungle-asia' at the bottom right of the image).
